Have you ever realized this before? Music is something we hear almost almost everywhere we go and it communicates messages that are forming and influencing the belief system of the people listening. Becoming aware of that means that we have the responsibility to be intentional to become better songwriters. And I have come to see that the only way to do that is to practice. So that’s why I’m so excited to invite you to join this songwriting challenge! Here is some practical information regarding what the course will look like:

The next course will run from 18 September until 16 October 2020 .

Each week on Friday you will receive an email with a web link and password to the reading of that week. At the end of that reading there will be a song prompt: a topic that you will write a song about. You will turn your song into me by Wednesday, and on Thursday/Friday we will have a video call to discuss your song. The goal is to help you improve on areas that might be weak in your songwriting, whether it’s form, lyrics, melody. And we hope that after 4 weeks you see a noticeable improvement!

So, the course requirements are not too intense, but you really do need to make sure that you are able to set aside time to work on your songs. If you take it seriously you will get the best results.

It’s important to note that this is a course for people who already know how to write songs. I will not teach you the basics of songwriting, but will help you to improve your craft by the weekly readings, prompts and song feedback.

After reviewing your registration and upon acceptance, I will send you an email with payment information. The cost for this 4 week songwriting challenge is €100. After receiving your payment, your place in the course will be finalized. There are a limited number of places, so make sure to sign up as soon as you can.

Registration will close on 1 September 2020.
